For the last few years, our name carried a story about parents giving so much of themselves that they lose a little of their color… and finding a place that helps them feel pink again. That meaning hasn’t changed. But as our community has grown, something beautiful happened:
You gave us our new name.
Long before we ever rebranded, families were calling us “The Mingo.” It started with toddlers who couldn’t quite say “flamingo,” then friends, parents, even our own team… and eventually, The Mingo became the way our community talked about this place.
So when we learned we needed to rebrand, we didn’t want to lose the heart behind our story. We wanted to honor the way you already saw us.
The Mingo is more than a nickname. It represents the warmth, the comfort, and the familiarity you feel when you walk through our doors. It’s playful yet grounded, welcoming to both families and coffee lovers, and it reflects the community-first heartbeat that built this space.
Parents still lose their pink in the hard seasons of raising little ones, and we still want to be the place where you get to rediscover it. Now, that mission lives under a name that you helped create.
At The Mingo Coffee & Play, children can explore and caregivers can exhale. It’s a place where good coffee, safe play, and genuine community help you feel refreshed, restored, and ready to step back into motherhood or parenthood with a little more color.
Different name. Same heart. Still helping you feel pink again, just with a name that finally feels like home: The Mingo.
According to studies, one in seven women reports symptoms of postpartum depression in the year after giving birth, or suffering a miscarriage. So support is crucial during the early season of motherhood.
Former teacher and mom Rachel Queen found herself needing more connections after suffering a major loss.
“I had a nine-month-old, and experienced a miscarriage. I fell into a really dark place mentally, emotionally,” says Queen.
When you walk into the Pink Flamingo Play Café, you walk into a village.
And we don’t just mean the play businesses lining the room.
“Sometimes all it takes to get that back, to feel like yourself again, is to get out of the house, connect with people in the same stage of life, and grab a really good cup of coffee,” Owner Rachel Queen said.
Juniper’s Rainbow represents the café‘s commitment to supporting families in healing and celebrating life.
Throughout the month of November, The Pink Flamingo Play Café has invited the community to participate in Juniper’s Rainbow, a heartfelt memorial mural honoring children lost through miscarriage, stillbirth, or any type of child loss while celebrating rainbow babies born after loss.
